The National Lutheran Choir, based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, is taking auditions for all voice parts for the 2008-2009 season.
Auditions are by appointment only during the hours listed below. (Other audition times may be available by special arrangement.) Audition Preparation
Come prepared to sing a song of your choice, in any language, that will show off your voice, preferably unaccompanied. It could be a hymn or a folk song, any work that you know well.
You will also sing exercises that demonstrate your vocal range, tonal memory, pitch, and sight reading ability.
The National Lutheran Choir, under the direction of David Cherwien, seeks to strengthen, renew and preserve the Lutheran heritage of choral music through the highest standards of performance and literature. The ensemble presents a wide range of choral works in concert, workshops and worship settings. The choir commissions, broadcasts and records extensively.
The choir rehearses once per week on Tuesday evenings at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Our season runs from September 2008 through May 2009 and includes a season subscription series, regional touring performances and workshops. A season schedule will be available shortly.
