The Board of Directors of the Luther Institute has unanimously authorized the presentation of a Wittenberg Award to the National Lutheran Choir.
The Wittenberg Awards were established in 1990 to recognize Lutheran laity and clergy from around the world for distinguished service to church and society, and, in so doing, to encourage others to accept the call to service and servant leadership.
Previous organizational winners of the Wittenberg Award include Lutheran World Relief and the Saint Olaf Choir.
A formal award presentation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2007, during the National Lutheran Choir's first concert of the season, which begins at 4:00 p .m. at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN. Information regarding ticket availability will be forthcoming.
