One of the greatest ways we cultivate a community is through song - all voices welcomed, no matter age, ability or experience.

Fostering a Lifetime of Singing

Our Education and Outreach programming initiatives seek to nurture a lifelong connection with sacred music for people of all beliefs.

It is my dream that any person from age one to 100 can discover and nurture their innate ability to sing. As Lutherans, we believe in the power of community singing—so much so that audience participation is part of our concert experiences. Our educational programs will reflect these values and honor the role that singing has in finding purpose and meaning.
— Jennaya Robison, Artistic Director of the National Lutheran Choir

For generations, singing together has been an essential part of the Lutheran faith identity. Over the last 40 years, the National Lutheran Choir has not only performed sacred choral music, but we have embraced opportunities for our audiences to be active participants in singing together in our Choral Tune-Ups, Hymn Festivals, and Concert Programs.

Now we look to the future and the next generation of singers to carry this legacy of singing a sacred song.
