Singer Chair Sponsorship Program
The Chair Sponsorship Program supports the very heart of the National Lutheran Choir, our dedicated singers!
Chair sponsorships honor National Lutheran Choir's talented volunteer singers and reflect our supporters' appreciation for their commitment. They also help keep NLC fee-free for all 70+ singers, offsetting costs like sheet music, performance attire, hospitality, and facility rental fees.
Chair sponsorships are $5,000 and may be given by an individual or a Giving Circle.
Chair sponsorships are valid for one season and may be renewed annually or endowed
Please make pledges by October 15, 2026 to ensure recognition in the program book. We request that pledge payments be made by December 31, 2026.
Supporters of the Musical Stave Chair
Individual Chair Sponsors are invited to name their Chair in any way they’d like. Chairs are listed under the sponsored singer’s name in each concert program. Here are a couple of examples:
Kenneth C. & Dorothy A. Bailey Memorial Chair, given in memory of Kenneth C. & Dorothy A. Bailey by Ken & Linda Holmen
Generations of NLC Chair, given by Mark & Karen Uecker to celebrate the youngest member of the NLC
A giving circle is a group of people who pool their resources to contribute to a given cause. Each individual chooses how much to personally contribute. Oftentimes, giving circles for the NLC represent churches or colleges. Our current giving circles include:

Choral Legacy Society
When voices join, the music endures. Leave a legacy that sings on.
The Choral Legacy Society honors supporters who have included the National Lutheran Choir in their estate plans. By doing so, you help ensure our rich tradition of song continues to inspire for generations to come.
Ways to include NLC in your estate plans:
Leave a bequest in your will or trust: “I hereby leave X% or $X to the National Lutheran Choir.”
Name NLC as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, retirement plan, or Charitable Remainder Trust.
Establish an endowment fund to support NLC.
To explore the choice that’s right for you and your family, or to notify us of a planned gift, please contact Anna Meyer, Director of Advancement.
If you would like to join the Choral Legacy Society, you can complete the Letter of Intent linked below and send it to Anna Meyer, Director of Advancement.
Savvy Ways to Give
There are many ways to give to the NLC to support what matters most to you in the way that makes sense for your unique financial situation.
Monthly Giving
A monthly sustaining gift is the easiest way to ensure your ongoing support of the National Lutheran Choir. As a monthly sustainer, your gift will automatically renew. Setting up your monthly gift is quick and easy, and can be cancelled at any time.
Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account that individuals can use to support the causes they care about. If you have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to benefit the National Lutheran Choir directly from your DAF.
For more information about DAFs and how to create one, please visit Thrivent Charitable Impact & Investing.
Qualified Charitable Distributions from an IRA
If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to a qualified charity such as the National Lutheran Choir. These gifts can count toward your required minimum distribution and are not subject to income tax.
Gifts of Stock
You can make a gift of appreciated stock to the National Lutheran Choir and receive a tax deduction for the full market value, while avoiding capital gains tax.
